Naoka Foreman is interning at The Nevada Independent after freelancing as a journalist since 2017, when she launched her pop-cultural newsletter series The Majority: The Official Newsletter From the Margin. In 2016, she decided to pursue journalism after producing two short documentaries while attending Nevada State College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in visual media with a concentration in digital cinema. Naoka plans to graduate from UNLV's Journalism and Media Studies program this spring with a master's degree. When she is not writing or researching, she is most likely with family, close ones, or out in the community.
