NV Dems Announce Digital Tool For Nevada's Caucus

Illustrated by Stephanie Serrano

The Nevada State Democratic Party has announced the digital tool it will be using to count its caucus results.

After the voting nightmare in Iowa, Nevada Democratic party officials who were set to use a similar app from the same developer, made a change of plans. Nevada’s party officials terminated the contract and instead, they will use a tool they are calling the caucus calculator.

The calculator will be used on an iPad and accessed through a secured internet site. That calculator has a built-in formula which will bring in early voting results and factor them into the live caucus data.

Volunteers will record the results on paper and report them to a hotline as a two source verification process.
