Marijuana taxes generated more than $8 million in August, setting another monthly record in Nevada. KUNR contributor Kaleb Roedel of the Northern Nevada Business View has the details.
The retail tax brought in $4.2 million for August which is a 26 percent increase from the same month last year. The wholesale tax brought in $3.9 million.
Legal and licensed marijuana dealers reported taxable sales of nearly $4.9 million for medical marijuana, adult-use pot and pot-related goods, such as edibles.
The wholesale tax is 15 percent and the retail pot tax is 10 percent on adult use marijuana sales.
