Ever catch yourself wondering why your dog does that thing, what your cat is really trying to tell you, or if you’re doing this whole pet parent thing right? 🐾 You’re not alone—and we’ve got answers.

This April, we’re hosting renowned Certified Animal Behaviorist Kelley Bollen, MS, CABC, for a FREE 4-part seminar series designed to help you better understand your pets and build stronger, safer relationships with them. Whether you’re new to pet ownership or have had animals your whole life, these sessions are packed with real-world insight you can actually use. 💜

Join us Wednesdays in April (April 8, 15, 22, 29) at our Adoption Center. Doors open at 5:30 PM and the seminar runs from 6:00–8:00 PM. We’ll cover common dog and cat behaviors, how to address challenges, and how to read body language to build trust and prevent bites.

This series is FREE and open to the community because we believe education is one of the most powerful ways to support pets and the people who love them. Donations of any kind are appreciated 💜

Each session focuses on real questions pet owners ask every day:
April 8 The Amazingness of Our Feline and Canine Friends Gain a deeper appreciation for how dogs and cats think, communicate, and experience the world.
April 15 Why Does My Dog Do That — and How Do I Get Him to Stop? Understand common dog behaviors and how to address them effectively.
April 22 Why Does My Cat Do That — and How Do I Get Him to Stop? Decode feline behavior and learn how to create a more harmonious home.
April 29 Dog Safety for Pet Owners (Body Language & Bite Prevention) Learn how to read dog body language and prevent bites before they happen.

How can landscape architects respond to novelty in their designed landscapes so that maintenance becomes an extension of design? This question requires an experimental approach that embraces the inherent tension between intention and materiality. Michael Geffel, Principal at LND LAB describes the theory, inspiration, and pragmatism that led to the founding of LND LAB, his design consultancy, which reframes maintenance and operations as tools to socially activate and ecologically regenerate fallow landscapes over time.

This is part of the Black Rock Design Institute (BRDI) lecture series for cross-disciplinary design professionals.

The Spring Dance Concert showcases new choreography by faculty and guest artists with a performance by University of Nevada, Reno students.

Join us at the Fleischmann Planetarium and Science Center on the First Friday of each month at 6pm for an out-of-this-world combination of Art and Science. Each monthly program will feature a talented local musician, paired with a special Full-Dome program in our 360° theater.
