The 2020 elections are a critical opportunity for voters across Northern Nevada to cast their ballots in support of the leadership they want to see at the local, state, and national levels on many issues, including public health, criminal justice reform and affordable housing.

KUNR’s local voter guide is meant to introduce you to candidates for several local races that impact your community, so you can make empowered decisions. We commend your efforts to be informed and participate in the democratic process.

Editor's Notes: Candidates have been listed in alphabetical order by last name. Some races include the audio and transcripts of candidate interviews that aired on KUNR FM. For other races, we have provided candidates’ responses to our questionnaire. Finally, multiple races in Northern Nevada are uncontested this election season and are, therefore, not included in this guide.

There are also several ballot initiatives this election cycle. Please visit the Nevada Secretary of State's website for more information.

*A few candidates did not meet KUNR’s qualifications for inclusion in our 2020 voter guide. Those basic qualifications include: reporting their campaign fundraising to the appropriate entities for transparency (which is a legal requirement) and raising at least $1,000 for their campaign. If those two requirements were not met by a candidate, KUNR did not reach out to them for an interview or to complete our voter guide questionnaire. These minimum requirements were determined by our editorial staff. If you have additional questions, please email us at news@kunr.org.

**Candidates for races included in KUNR's voter guide who did not accept repeated requests to be interviewed by KUNR.
