New ordinance expands previous policies, one-ups Sparks and Washoe County camping bans.

Current and former elected officials in Nevada are voicing their concerns about the Heritage Foundation’s federal policy proposal called Project 2025. The more than 900-page document outlines a plan from conservative and right-wing groups to reshape the federal government across many sectors.

The City of Reno is in the process of establishing ordinances outlining where street food vendors are allowed to operate.

The new redistricting map will go into effect in January.

The Reno city council took an important step in redrawing political boundaries earlier this month, when they voted to adopt a new ward map. But the decision has been controversial among elected officials and some residents.

In the race for Reno City Council Ward 4, newcomer Meghan Ebert has claimed victory after narrowly defeating incumbent Bonnie Weber, according to preliminary results. Ebert will join incumbents Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve and Ward 2 Councilmember Naomi Duerr, who both won re-election, on the Reno City Council, which is made up of six council members and a mayor to make policy decisions, set priorities, and approve the city’s budget.
