Artists Paul DaSilva and Betsy Bennet Smith will entertain with original compositions, Lisztian piano bravura, vocal selections, classical favorites, and unique and seldom-heard instruments such as the cross-strung harp and pedal steel guitar. And even a few musical surprises! Tickets are $120 ($110 for SSPF Park Donors) and include parking, a twilight reception with live music and heavy apps, and wine bar sponsored by Highway 12 Winery. Get your kids ready for a fun-filled summer camp where they can learn how to make a short film!Our camp is perfect for youth aged 10-to-18 years-old who love to be creative and want to learn new skills.
During the camp, students will learn how to create a storyboard, write a script, shoot footage, and edit their film using professional software.They'll work collaboratively with their peers to create a story based on Comstock history from conception to completion.Our experienced instructors and professional filmmakers will guide them through the entire process, from start to finish.At the end of the Summer Camp, your child will have a completed short film to show off to friends and family, or to submit in the first ever Fourth Ward School Museum Film Festival in September!Check out the short film created by our film students in a previous year, called the "Note of Sutro" in the video below!
The camp meets twice a week for two weeks on Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning on July 14, 2025. Each of the sessions runs from 11 AM to 4 PM and is located at the Historic Fourth Ward School Museum in Virginia City, NV.
This is a great opportunity for your kids to learn new skills, make new friends, dive into their local history and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.
Tuition is $20 per student. Please reserve your child's spot through Eventbrite or by contacting the museum directly.

Community Health Alliance, Washoe County School District and Molina Healthcare of Nevada are hosting back-to-school vaccinations for students entering kindergarten and older.
Patients are asked to bring a valid photo ID, insurance card (if you have one), and a completed Vaccine Informed Consent Form, which can be filled out right on site or beforehand online at the CHA website www.chanevada.org.
We also ask that clothing with easy access to the arm or leg be worn to administer any vaccines.
For minors, a parent or legal guardian must be present to receive their vaccines.

Walk-ins may also be accepted based on availability, though appointments are encouraged to reduce wait times.
