A 6-Week Inclusive Creative Play & Theater Program for Toddlers (18 Months–3Years)
Program Length: 6 Weeks
Session Length: 45 Minutes
Audience: Toddlers (18 months–3 years) with a parent, grandparent, or caregiver
Program Philosophy: Little Story Makers introduces toddlers to the joy of dramatic play through imagination, movement, storytelling, music, costumes, and pretend play. At this age, theater is not about performing—it's about exploring, pretending, communicating, and building confidence. The program celebrates every child's unique way of engaging. Children may observe, participate actively, communicate nonverbally, or move freely throughout the space.
Program Goals: Children will: Build imagination and creativity Develop language and communication skills Practice social interaction Increase confidence Explore emotions safely Strengthen caregiver-child relationships Develop gross and fine motor skills Experience cooperative storytelling

Join us at the Fleischmann Planetarium and Science Center on the First Friday of each month at 6pm for an out-of-this-world combination of Art and Science. Each monthly program will feature a talented local musician, paired with a special Full-Dome program in our 360° theater.

We're starting things off with a free community dance lesson from The Reno Empire (7-8PM) followed by open dance (8-11PM).

IT'S BACK! We're beyond excited to be partnering with our friends at Lithia Reno Subaru for a special FEE-WAVED ADOPTION EVENT on Saturday, October 3, from 10 AM-2 PM.

These events allow us to connect pets with people outside of our Adoption Center. For some of our longer-term pets, this is an extra-special opportunity for more visibility, giving them a bigger chance of finding a loving home.

Whether you’re ready to adopt, thinking about adding a furry family member soon, or simply want to stop by and support homeless pets in our community, we’d love to see you!

Our trained SPCA-NN team will be on-site to help guide adopters through our standard conversation-based adoption process to help find the best fit for pets and people. 🐶🐱

Doodle Your Soul is back with their famously awesome and creative Kid's Arts & Crafts Class! Come in this Saturday from 12-3pm to enjoy creating art and take home what you make.
This is completely free, but we ask you to RSVP to make sure we have plenty of supplies.
Adult supervision is required for the duration of the class.

What began as a heartfelt tribute to a beloved Maine Coon, named Nacho Kitty has now become an annual tradition. Bringing together our community for bowling, fun, and a whole lot of love for homeless pets.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 3, 2026, and get ready to strike down some pins this year at Coconut Bowl at Wild Island. Making this event even easier for our Reno community, SPCA-NN alumni, and supporters to join!

This tournament helps keep pets with families who love them when an unexpected veterinary emergency arises. What started as one family’s way of honoring their beloved cat has grown into an incredible community tradition, helping raise thousands of dollars for pets to receive the care they need when it matters most.

This event is open to anyone, and you don’t have to bowl to join in on the fun! Come down, cheer on the teams, enter raffles to win prizes, and help raise funds for homeless pets in our care.

Tournament bowlers must be 18+. Check-in begins at 1 PM, and bowling begins at 2 PM

Welcome autumn with our 12th annual park-benefitting cruise! Enjoy spellbinding stories (true or false, you decide!), free-flowing fine wine by Highway 12 Winery, and endless appetizers. A cash bar will be available.
A live auction of marvelous treasures and experiences will be offered, benefiting the Sierra State Parks Foundation.
Seating is limited, and reservations are required. We highly recommend guests arrive at 3:30 pm as the boat leaves sharply at 4 pm! We predict the boat will return to the docks at 6 pm.
Tickets are $85 ($75 donors), which includes a sunset cruise, access to multiple entertaining speakers, heavy appetizers, and free wine.
